Septuagenarian shows off his air guitar skills

STORY: Playing the air guitar demands showmanship, stamina, everything but actual musical talent.

The contestants who entered the Toronto regional air guitar competition met all these requirements, and included in the event was a performer who calls himself "the oldest-ever active air guitar competitor."

71-year-old Bob "Mr. Bob" Wagner took the stage on Thursday (July 10) hoping to win a spot at the Canadian National Air Guitar Championships later this summer but failed to make the finals.

Even though the septuagenarian, who is roughly the same age as deceased rock legend Jimi Hendrix, won't be crowned Canada's greatest air guitarist, "Mr. Bob" says he will never be singing the blues.
