Therapeutic Literacy Center - Solana Beach, CA United StatesDeficit-Specific Approach: Dyslexia, ADHD and Auditory Processing Disorder
When children are struggling to learn at their potential it is because one or more of their underlying learning skills is not yet developed. The Therapeutic Literacy Center has a system to develop those skills - auditory and visual processing, working memory and processing speed among others – using a deficit-specific approach.
TLC is a therapeutic treatment center for Auditory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, ADHD and un-diagnosed learning challenges.
Skilled reading and spelling requires auditory and visual processing to be working in synchrony. These can be developed. Reading problems don’t have to be permanent. We correct the problems associated with a diagnosis of dyslexia without taking away the gifts that a child with dyslexia brings to our world.
Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) often goes unrecognized and untreated. Using a deficit-specific-treatment approach – auditory discrimination, binaural integration and separation, temporal processing, auditory figure ground and others can be significantly corrected if not completely remediated.
Our mission is to remove the need for accommodations and compensations.
The research behind neuroplasticity confirms what we know - learning challenges don’t have to be permanent.
With offices in TWO locations – Solana Beach and Vista – we serve families from all over North San Diego County.
