Russian President Vladimir Putin voices concern about the spread of Nazi ideology.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN, SAYING:

"We are very concerned about those Nazi ideas springing up here and there. I would like to thank social organizations that, considering the current situation in the world, continue to actively and bravely fight with any attempts to revive the Nazi ideology."

Joined by an international delegation of rabbis at the Kremlin, he offers assurances.

(SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN, SAYING:

"I would like to say that we consider you to be the closest allies in this regard, and I ask you to consider us the same."

Israel's chief rabbi offers his thanks.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ISRAELI CHIEF RABBI ISRAEL MEIR LAU, SAYING:

"This is our fight, and we are very happy to know that you are in the front line with us together to fight hatred and anti-semitism. Spasibo ("Thank you" in Russian).
