Texas news anchor, Alexa Williams was filming when she unknowingly announced her own marriage proposal. On the 4th of July, Williams, who is a KWES anchor, had just wrapped up the 6 newscast when she started reading cut-ins for the 10 after the show.
Typically she only reads two cut-ins while filling in, but on Independence Day, her producer asked her to read three. That third line was about her own proposal, only at the time she had no idea the line pertained to her.
While the cameras were rolling she read ‘An Odessa woman is about to get the surprise of her life and eventually a new last name!' She looked slightly baffled after the announcement but her shock was made very evident when her boyfriend walked out on the set with flowers.
Her man said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and got down on one knee for everyone to see. Williams said yes.
Reflecting on the sweet proposal, Williams commented “I was really confused when I read it and then my boyfriend walked in and proposed! I'd say I had a pretty awesome 4th."
