The Two-Faced Cat, Venus Goes Viral

Venus is the latest cat celebrity to become famous. She’s called the ‘two-faced cat’ for good reason.

She is the called the ‘two-faced cat’ for good reason.
She has two shades of fur on her face. One side is black while the other is golden with tiger stripes.
She also has two differently colored eyes, a blue one and a greenish yellow one.
The kitty’s owners have established a Facebook account called ‘Venus's Page - Amazing Chimera cat’ to share images of her. The photos of her have since gone viral.
Venus was found on a dairy farm in North Carolina in 2009. A woman in Florida, named Christina saw photos of the cat and within days, Venus was living with her. Venus’ family has taken her to the vet, but no one is quite sure how she got the two-face look.
Leslie Lyons, a professor at the University of California, Davis is familiar with Venus’ story and theorizes the cat’s varying colors can be chalked up to luck. She thinks the black coloration activated in the cells on one side of her face randomly, while the orange color worked wonders on the other side.
