Cameron Diaz recently opened up about her decision not to have children. The 41-year-old actress admitted in an interview with Esquire Magazine that she thinks kids are a ton of work.
Wildly successful actress and frequent cover girl, Cameron Diaz, recently admitted that kids are a lot of work. In an interview with Esquire Magazine, 41 year old Diaz opened up about her difficult decision not to have kids.
She remarked “It’s so much more work to have children. To have lives besides your own that you are responsible for -- I didn’t take that on. That did make things easier for me. A baby -- that’s all day, every day for eighteen years.”
She went on to say she likes protecting people and the idea of being the protector in general but said in her own words that she simply wasn’t drawn to being a mom. Those statements don’t mean she doesn’t like kids though.
In another interview with U.K. newspaper, The Telegraph, she said she felt like a mother at certain times because many of her friends have children and the actress is perfectly content just being around them.
Diaz describes herself as a woman who lives ‘in the moment’ and she accepts every decision she’s made in her life. As for the choice not to have babies, Diaz has no regrets.
Instead of focusing on kids, she’s dedicated to pursuing her acting career and branching out into new roles, like her newest flick called ‘Sex Tape’ in which she appears, for the first time, fully nude.
