Under the shade of the Manhattan Bridge, soccer fans glow with national pride.

Gathering for Team USA's battle against Germany in a much anticipated World Cup match.

It was a nail-biter. Cheers turned into dismay as "red, white and blues" watched Germany score the only goal.

Loud sighs in the capital, as their team came close to scoring near the end.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ADAM ADES, WORLD CUP TEAM USA SUPPORTER, SAYING:

"Realistically it looked like we were playing for the draw. It didn't seem like - we came out nervous, we couldn't get possession, it seems like Germany dominated the amount of possession. But hey, we made it through the next round, we are ready to take on Belgium."

Craved fans in Berlin celebrated Germany's domination from start to finish.

(SOUNDBITE) (German) FAN DAJANIRA SCHAEFER SAYING:

"It was super great. 1-0 for Germany. And we certainly are further. Further, until the final. And we will make it."
