Seattle police have launched an investigation after a woman reported seeing a peeping drone hovering outside her window. Lisa Pleiss had been getting dressed Sunday morning in her high rise apartment when she spotted the device flying approximately a block away from her living room window.

Seattle police have solved the mystery pertaining to a so-called ‘peeping drone’. Lisa Pleiss had been getting dressed Sunday morning in her high rise apartment when she spotted the device flying approximately a block away from her living room window.

She remarked “It was surreal. Initially I was kind of like, ‘Wow, what is that thing? I stared at it for about thirty seconds and once I registered the cameras I felt very vulnerable.”

Pleiss tried to take a good look at it, but the drone made an abrupt turn and flew away from her home. She suspected the drone might be spying on her, so she alerted building staffers who in turn contacted police.

An investigation was launched into the incident, but it was later determined a Portland-based company, Skyris Imaging was hired by a developer to take photos of buildings in the city, one of which also happens to be Pleiss’ apartment complex.

The company has apologized for the misunderstanding and will be sending Pleiss a copy of the photo they took to assure her no peeping was done.
