A Playthrough of the FreeSpace 2 Modification Ancient-Shivan War Act I created by the Ancient-Shivan War Team in 2009 and upgraded in 2012 on Insane Difficulty by Novachen.

After our portal is secured, we are preparing our counterstrike against this new inferior race. But before we can start our offensive into shivan territory we have to retaken Verbek. Our first task in this operation is to break through the shivan blockade around the jump node.
Hints:
I do not suggest to use the AB Attis in this mission. Because of the masses of enemy fighters, your and your wingmates chance of survival is higher if you fly the AF Phylaki, because you can battle enemy fighters and also this assault fighter is strong enough to bring down the Cain cruisers.
Ignore the Lilith cruiser and the Moloch corvette and stay away from them, the ACv Apodoulou will destroy them.
Protect the cruiser against the Shaitan bombers and destroy the Cannon turrets on the Moloch and Lilith with your Nightmares if you have the opportunity to do so.
