Landscaper Killed After Getting Pulled Into Wood Chipper

A man in Davie, Florida tragically passed away in a wood chipper accident. The victim had been landscaping all day Monday.

A man in Davie, Florida tragically passed away in a wood chipper accident. The victim had been landscaping all day Monday.
He was with two co-workers and together the crew cleaned up debris. Somehow, he fell into the teeth of the machine and his entire body was pulled into the wood chipper.
Police said a motorist in the neighborhood witnessed the man being pulled into the wood chipper and called for help. At approximately 4:30 in the afternoon, police and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
The male was pronounced dead right away. An investigation is now underway to determine how the accident occurred.
Police Capt. Dale Engle said “This isn’t something you see every day. It’s not something you can just go home and forget about. I’ve never seen anything like this. This is a gruesome scene.”
Davie Police cleaned the area and collected the victim’s remains piece by piece. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration or OSHA was notified of the fatal incident and arrived at the scene to investigate.
The man was employed by Tree Techs Inc., which is based out of Pembroke Pines.
