After London, fashionistas have flocked to Milan in Italy for the spring-summer 2015 menswear collections.
Donatella Versace’s designs for next summer are seriously frivolous. Where’s the party? And where’s the time machine? Or should that be a cruise ship? Designs included a toga, a wrapped “ancient Greek” swimsuit, and clothes evoking Havana, Cuba. Lots of the models carried manbags and rucksacks – designer ones of course.
John Richmond’s passion for the world of rock and roll is evident throughout his collection. His street hip style stayed monochrome but embraced a multitude of casual styles and shapes, including sports clothes, and polka dot shirts.
Angela Missoni says she was inspired by a mix of cultures from southern Europe to North Africa. “The colours are influenced by a north African souk,” and added, “Saffron, lavender, all the spices, but very strong colours working together.”
With the strong colour palette went crocheted patchwork djellabas, linen shorts, suede bomber jackets, and shawl collared cardigans.
As for Dolce and Gabbana – they are definitely in the red. For their Spring-Summer collection 2015, they turned their attention to the Spanish conquest of their adored Sicily.
Their collection featured the matador jacket, embellished with swirls of piping and ribbon, and worn with cropped trousers and slippers.
