Protests planned as Turkey's Erdogan visits France

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is in France where he and President Francois Hollande have been discussing the crises in Syria and Iraq.

On Saturday, Erdogan was due to meet the Turkish community in Lyon, in what is widely seen as part of his campaign to win Turkey’s presidency in elections this August.

Opponents have planned protests in the city, accusing Erdogan’s government of violating human rights, failing to respect Turkey’s secular tradition and attacking minorities.
