On Tuesday, during the 2-day international conference to save the oceans at the US State Department in Washington, government officials from 80 countries got the news from President Barack Obama.

He announced that he's creating what will become the largest marine preserve in the world, across the south-central-Pacific ocean in US territories like American Samoa and Hawaii and groups of uninhabited islands under US control...also known as the Pacific Island Remote National Monument.
