A woman is now traveling to far away places with a life-sized cutout of her deceased father. She had the cardboard replica made and purchased a one-way ticket to Iceland. Now, Yang’s venturing all over Europe and snapping photos of herself standing next to the cutout, so it appears like she’s traveling with her dad.
Since the pair embarked on the journey, they’ve been photographed near the Gullfoss Waterfall in Iceland, The Blue Lagoon, the Skogafoss Waterfall, The Great Geysir, the Italian Riviera, the Colosseo in Rome, The Louvre in Paris, The Leaning Tower Pisa, St Paul's Cathedral in London, the Duomo in Florence and of course the Eiffel Tower.
When Yang’s dad passed away nearly two years ago, she had an enviable job, a luxury apartment, an ‘overfilling’ closet and was in a relationship. Slowly, her life slid downhill as the grief of his passing set in, despite her best attempts to avoid it.
She eventually made the decision to start traveling with the cutout. In her blog ‘Grease & Glamour’, Yang noted “I hope my story will inspire you to take a chance, and to never give up hope. For years I chased success and sacrificed happiness, but success lives where happiness lies. Don’t chase success, chase happiness and success will come.”
