A study has revealed the most influential person in history according to Wikipedia, and it’s someone you’ve most likely never heard of. The research paper published by the University of Toulouse, in conjunction with several other European universities, ran through 24 different languages of Wikipedia. To oversimplify the several algorithms that the study ran, whichever pages had the most links linking back to it were considered the most influential pages. So, it’s based on links, not page views.
