Mysterious 'Litchi Syndrome' that kills kids strikes again - Tv9 Gujarati

Due to the ‘Litchi syndrome', a viral infection leading to sudden death, in the last five days.The virus affects the brain causing swelling. It is said to originate in China. In India, it is seen in the summer months in some parts of north India, shows symptoms of acute encephalitis syndrome (AES). AES is known to cause sudden death of young kids. It is commonly called as litchi syndrome, named after a fruit of which Malda is a major producer.
