Defying all odds, a woman is alive and perfectly fine after a train drove over her.
Defying all odds, a woman is alive and perfectly fine after a train drove over her. On Wednesday numerous people in Auburn, Alabama reported they had seen an oncoming train strike the victim at a railroad crossing.
Cops responded to the scene fully expecting to find a badly injured or deceased person. Instead they discovered the female, identified as 22-year-old Lynsey Horne unconscious on the tracks.
Police Capt. Lorenza Dorsey remarked, "The way that she was not struck from the train or any objects from the train, she is very fortunate and lucky." [WTVM]
Officers woke Horne and arrested her for disorderly conduct and public intoxication. The first charge is due to the unnecessary chaos she caused. The train was forced to stop, a medical helicopter was put on standby and an ambulance was dispatched to the tracks.
Horne has no obvious wounds on her body but she was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Investigators are looking into how she ended up on the tracks. At this point, they suspect she wandered on to them right before the train passed over her.
