A garage owner in Edinburgh, Scotland has issued an apology after he pulled a bizarre prank. The police were forced to pay a visit to 56-year-old Dan Thompson due to his stunt.

All the trouble stems from a fake murder. Thompson had decided to stage a killing right in the street when he spotted a Google camera car close to his shop.

In a spur of the moment plan, he rested lifeless in the road while his co-worker stood near him with a pick axe handle, making it appear as though he was murdered. Clearly he wanted the Google camera to capture his body on the road.

Sure enough, he got his wish. The photos were snapped and placed on Google Street View for everyone to see. Thompson pulled off the stunt back in August of 2012. No attention was given to the pictures until a year later when a Netizen eventually saw them and called the police. Not long after that, cops showed up to talk to Thompson.

Following the little interview, he commented “There are pictures of men on Google flashing their bums but we thought we would be more classy. We had forgotten about it when the police arrived a year later and we apologised for wasting police time. They found it funny.”
