PIPA Housing is an experimental video about the creative process in architectural design.

A modular system of apartments was designed for this video based on the original Le Corbusier's concepts. But it's not only about the architectural design concept but the work behind its visualization. Avoiding the fanciness of the current tendencies and going back into the classics: sketches, cardboard models and oil drawings, allowing the spectator’s mind figuring it out from the abstract presentation.

In order to make the Pipa Housing project a new tool called PaintTracer was developed. PaintTracer transforms the scene into a living oil painting being time coherent and following the movement smoothly. It is worth noting the whole video was made using in-house software.

Hope you enjoy this video as much as we did along the whole researching process.
(Software mentioned above : Thea for 3dmax, Motiva RealPerception and PaintTracer -not yet released-).
