Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero should be fit to play, with tests showing that his groin injury is just muscle fatigue.

But Samir Nasri has been diagnosed with tendonitis in his knee and faces a spell on the sidelines.

Lunchtime is here and with it the first course of an appetising afternoon's football in the Premier League. Manchester City v Newcastle United might not have the cachet of Chelsea v Arsenal or the front-page-headline-making potential of Liverpool v Blackpool but this fixture still boasts plenty of intrigue.

City, despite not always giving the impression of an unstoppable force this season, have an opportunity to go second. Newcastle, though, have beaten Aston Villa 6-0 already this season, and Chelsea 4-3 in the Carling Cup. The latter was achieved against a weakened team, but Newcastle were not fielding their strongest side either.
