Despite the frustrations of a League Cup exit this week, Everton's opening to the campaign has been impressive. David Moyes has often bemoaned a slow start from his team. Last season they managed just two wins from their first seven league matches, whilst 12 months earlier they failed to win a Premier League match until October. Frequently they've relied on huge consistency post-Christmas to secure top-eight finishes in each of the last six seasons.
Now with 10 points from 15 already on the board the questions are can they maintain their form and where can it take them? I think with the astute business David Moyes did in the last window his squad has more depth compared to recent times. They won comfortably at Swansea even without the likes of Nikica Jelavic and Darron Gibson, two of the influential arrivals from last January.

Goodison has never been an easy place to pick up points, although losing six matches there last season was a frustration given they'd only been beaten at home on five occasions in the previous two campaigns. If they can be that solid at home again, and continue the early season away form, then hopes that they could be up amongst last year's top four will be genuine ones.
