Shocking circus accident: Acrobat falls 35 ft to his death in Brazil

A Brazilian circus performer died after falling 35 feet onto the stage beneath after a stunt went horribly wrong in front of a live audience in southern Brazil.
Wilson Gomes Barreto, 28, was midway through a risky routine for the Tihany Spectacular troupe in Londrina on May 18 when he missed a jump and plummeted to the ground below. Colleagues rushed over to help him, but the acrobat, conscious after his horrific tumble, complained only of a broken elbow.
Things sadly took a turn for the worse, however, when he discovered, upon arriving at a nearby hospital, that he had swelling in the brain. He eventually succumbed to his injuries two days later.
The acrobat jumped from the wrong angle of the swinging carriage and missed his target according to the circus' ringmaster.
Barreto's death was the first serious accident in circus' history.
