Check Out | The Yamaha YZF-R25 Has Arrived

It's not a render, and it certainly isn't a grainy spyshot -- this is the first official picture of Yamaha's brand-new 250cc precision tool!
We saw the concept, we saw heaps of renderings and spy pictures, but finally, we have the first official picture of the YZF-R25. This is it!
Looks feisty, doesn't it? It's an arrowy, edgy design, with dual 'Predator' headlights up front, and a full fairing that hides that new motor.
Oh yes, the motor. It's a liquid-cooled, 249cc inline twin that belts out 35.5bhp and 22.6Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, as are disc brakes front and back.
Size-wise, the R25 is actually a shade larger than its rival-in-chief, the Kawasaki Ninja 300. It's frame is made using steel, so it only weighs 166kg.
It's available in just three paint options -- red, black and blue -- will be available for the price of 53 million Indonesian rupiah. That's Rs 2.70 lakh for us, so you get an idea of where it'll sit in terms of price in our market -- just below the slightly more powerful Ninja 300.
When is it coming here? Well, the Indonesians are getting it first, and we wouldn't be surprised if we're next in line. Who knows, we may only be a few months away from an Indian launch.
Yamaha's selling it as the "superbike you can ride every day". Thoughts, dotcommers?
