LORIENT CAPITULATES 1945 - 1

On 7 Mai 1945, just before 20.00 Hrs, Colonel Borst, disembarks at Magouër, on the Etel River to officially surrender on behalf of General Fahrmbacher. Colonel Keating was representing General Kramer commander of the 66th Infantry Division, the act of surrender of Fortress Lorient was signed inside “Bar Breton” in the small fishing harbor of Magouër.
