Serbia hit by worst floods in 120 years

The heaviest rains and floods in 120 years hit Serbia, killing four people, cutting off power and leaving several towns and villages isolated.
The Serbian government declared a state of emergency on Thursday (May 15) and asked the European Commission, Russia and Slovenia for help.
The four casualties, one of them a firefighter on a rescue mission, all drowned in floodwaters.
More than 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.
Soldiers and special forces police officers were sent to towns in central Serbia which has been the hardest hit area.
In some cases Army helicopters were used to evacuate families from surrounding villages.
Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday that an emergency would be declared for the whole country.
Schools across the country were also closed.
