Yesterday was a beautiful day for a wedding at the White House. A young bride and groom, their families and friends all gathered for the ceremony. The couple were in love and had a promising future. The families were proud. Their friends were excited to see them getting married and all looked forward to the day that they would be at the alter.
It was beautiful but they did not know what was coming. The ceremony moved forward flawlessly, each participant doing their part. The wedding complete, the bride and groom kissed, and began to walk down the aisle as people applauded and they smiled broadly.
Then, there was a noise overhead, an uninvited guest had arrived. It was an American robotic airplane carrying a gift no one at the wedding wanted.
When the bomb hit, it was instantaneous. The bride, groom, the parents and most of their family and friends were dead.
This is what it is like when killer drone comes to your wedding.
Sadly, this story is based on reality — the reality of the United States murdering civilians with killer drones. The US has bombed weddings, and even funerals, in places like Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
We will not forget the innocent lives that have been lost to the killer drones. Ground the drones NOW! via www.codepink.org/wedding
