An Iranian delegation of officials and businessmen arrived in Tunis on Tuesday to boost trade between the Islamic Republic and the North African state.
Iran’s delegation is headed by the country’s president of chamber of commerce. The Tunisian side was represented by officials from the Union of Agriculture as well as Businessmen from all sectors. The Tunisian Union of Agriculture represents some 350.000 farmers. Its representative stressed the role of Tehran in supporting important sectors in Tunisia. The delegation inaugurated the office of the Tunisian-Iranian Enterprise for Commerce, Development & Investment. It will host a permanent exhibition of Iranian products and would attract businessmen from the two Muslim countries. The visiting Iranian delegation has been welcomed by officials and professionals who believe in stronger economic ties with the Islamic Republic. Observers say bilateral relations between Tunis and Tehran have been reinforced during Tunisia's transitional period.
