A new way to describe the crisis in Ukraine: First, Putin saying Ukraine is sliding into a civil war, but now the interim PM Yatsenyuk, accusing Russia of seeking to start World War 3. Taking a look at the Russian troops' position, they have inched closer to the border, now only one kilometer away. So are the Russian troops going to move in? On the other hand, the US is deploying troops in countries that lie near Ukraine including Poland, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. So far, the US has slapped sanctions on individuals but hasn't targeted entire economic sectors, such as Russia's critical energy sector. Even if new US and EU sanctions were to target broad sections of Russia's economy, which has been downgraded by S&P, US President Obama while in S Korea said it may fail to deter Vladimir Putin.
