The event hosts more than 1500 exhibitors from 50 different countries for twenty days. Its opening ceremony was attended by hundreds of international lecturers from all around the world and Argentinean cultural dignitaries. They highlighted the importance of the major festival.
The 20-day event will be not only a significant display of works from all over the world but also a gathering point for authors, editors, booksellers, distributors and readers, as it promotes debates, lectures and seminars. The Islamic world will be widely represented in this year's exhibition. The participating representatives of mosques and other Islamic organizations aim to share a more detailed knowledge of the Muslim culture. The International Book Fair is the biggest literary event in Latin America, and brings together a host of select writers and lecturers. This year, over one million visitors are expected at the fair.
