‘Fading Gigolo’, written and directed by John Turturro, stars Vanessa Paradis and Woody Allen. Turturro also stars, alongside Sharon Stone and a wealth of other famous faces.

Talking about working with Woody Allen, Turturro said: “For the first hour there was trepidation, but he was the easiest person to work with. He likes to improvise a little bit and go off and come back on, but he was really a prince to work with and when I gave him directions, as long as it made sense to him, he did it. If he didn’t he’d ask me a question, but he rarely did.”

Sofia Vergara played Sharon Stone’s gal pal, in and out of the bedroom, and said it was her first time shooting bedroom scenes: “Imagine your first time being with Sharon Stone! It was really stressful in the beginning but then when I got on the set and I met her she just said, ‘Follow my lead, I’ve done this a million times!’ She just took over and also working with John Turturro, was fantastic.”

‘Fading Gigolo’ could easily have been just a voyeuristic trip through a series of sex scenes, but in fact the film is not really about sex at all. It is a funny, sweet-hearted exploration of loneliness and the things people do to escape it.
