A famous parrot in Brooklyn apparently wanted to spend some downtime out of the spotlight and decided to fly away. The green parrot named Truman has appeared and performed in front of thousands of people accompanying his owner, Michael Sazhin.

Now Sazhin is desperately searching for 4-year-old Truman who took to the skies on a recent Monday outing. He was last seen flying down 16th Avenue.

According to Sazhin, he and Truman had been at a local park when the bird abruptly and inexplicably flew off. Sazhin pointed out he’s brought Truman to the same park plenty of times before without problems.

"Even though he's famous. It's really not about that. I just want my pet back. I have had him since he was a baby." [News 12 Brooklyn]

Truman is comparable in size to a pigeon, weighing about 350 grams. He has orange trim under his wings and close to his feet. He has a large beak and a short tail.

Sazhin is asking people to keep their eyes peeled for his bird and has released his phone number for anyone who spots him to call. Sazhin has tons of videos featuring Truman on his YouTube channel, showing how close the two really are.

Now, he’s left scouring his neighborhood for his beloved pet. Sazhin commented ‘Thousands of people on Facebook and online are rooting for his safe return. But it’s like finding a needle in a haystack.’
