There are lots of unfortunate love seekers out there, who have some seriously bizarre first date tales to share. A woman in Dover, New Jersey certainly has a story to tell after a man stole her dog and TV.

The victim claimed her possessions were swiped during her first date with the suspect. According to the lady, she met the man online. She knew him only by his supposed first name, ‘Joel’.

It seems the woman invited him over after the web-based meeting. On the night of the incident, she left ‘Joel’ alone for a short duration while she was in another room.

When she returned, the man was no nowhere in sight and neither was her $4,000 Yorkie and expensive TV. The woman alerted police of the thefts.

Investigators tried to get fingerprints off her cellphone, believing the suspect had used it while he was in the home. However, before they could track him down, the female discovered her unharmed dog leashed up to her TV in her front yard two days after their date.

Police say they have identified the man but no charges have yet been filed in the case.
