The US Supreme Court has refused to revive an Arizona law which previously criminalized harboring illegal immigrants.
The court said it won’t hear an appeal from the state of Arizona. The ban was in effect from late July 2010 until a federal judge blocked its enforcement in 2012. The provision also makes it a crime to encourage illegal immigrants to enter the state, or transport them. Various immigrant and human rights groups, including the Border Action Network are strongly opposed to the provision.
