Man dies in fight at Arrowhead Stadium during Broncos-Chiefs game

A man is dead after a struggle in an Arrowhead Stadium parking lot during the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos game Sunday night.

Kansas City police chief Darryl Forte called it a homicide in a tweet, while other police officials are calling it a death investigation. Police said the struggle happened in during the game in Lot A. The man was taken to a local area hospital where he died.

Three people are currently in custody. Authorities have not given details as to how these people are connected to the incident. Police were called to the scene at 5:20pm. The game started at 3:25pm.

Police said a man and his son went to their Jeep during the game. When they got to their car, they discovered a stranger sitting inside the vehicle. Authorities are trying to determine whether the man broke into the SUV or was in the wrong vehicle by accident. A police report said that the man was rifling through the car.

The owner of the Jeep and the man started to fight while the owner's son ran to get help. The unidentified man found allegedly rifling through the Jeep was later found collapsed onto the pavement. He was rushed to a local area hospital, where he later died. The man was described as being in his mid-20s.

Kansas City police Officer Darrin Snapp said an autopsy will be needed since the man wasn't stabbed or shot. Hospital officials didn't find signs of a significant struggle on his body.
