A female orangutan had to have a sinus operation in the UK

    by PressTV

Vicky-- the 29-year-old Bornean orangutan, underwent a two-hour surgery to clear her chronic sinusitis which caused her headaches and made her more susceptible to picking up infections. The surgery was carried out by Chester Zoo vets and a specialist from Switzerland. This is the first time the procedure has been carried out on an animal this size in Britain. Vicky has now fully recovered and has been taken back to her enclosure where she is joined by her fellow orangutans including her two girls.
