Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted that relations between his country and the US have become strained.
Putin says the trust between Moscow and Washington has diminished. He says Russia is not to blame for the cooling of ties with the US. Putin also referred to Washington's anger at Russia over Ukraine, saying the US criticizes Russia over Ukraine and Crimea, while it allows itself to wage wars on other countries like former Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Elsewhere, Putin spoke of the situation in Ukraine. He said dialog is the only way out of the crisis there. He also urged the government in Kiev to sit down and hold talks with Russian-speaking communities in eastern Ukraine.
