Not an animal rights song as it might seems at first, but a satire concerning French and English spectators at a bullfight, their pretenses and delusions. A bit of an anti-war message thrown in at the end. Written and performed in 1963. Brel rarely performed in costume,but, feeling a bit Spanish, he did for the bullfighter, as for Don Quixote.
