The prosecution in the murder trial of Oscar Pistorius ended its cross-examination of the track star on Thursday.

The double amputee sports icon is charged with murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentines' Day last year in his Pretoria home.

It was the fifth day of sometimes tense questioning from Prosecutor Gerrie Nell;

called the "Pitbull" for his tough reputation and courtroom style.

"She's locked into the bathroom and you armed yourself with the sole purpose of shooting and killing her."

Pistorius insists the shooting was accidental and that he thought Steenkamp was an intruder.

But the prosecution says the couple had an argument just before and that the killing was intentional.

Tuesday's testimony included a forensics expert, who said blood evidence on Pistorius' sock shows he kicked the locked bathroom door with his prosthetic legs before the shooting.
