Last February the military-appointed government gave permission to heads of universities to call in security forces to disperse students demonstrations. On another front, the presidential elections race is underway in Egypt. Presidential Candidate Abdel Fatah El Sisi's Campaign delivered 200,000 endorsements to the Presidential Elections Committee backing Sisi's bid for nomination and thus completing the requirements needed to officially run in the race. The elections have been set for the 26th and 27th of May. Student Protests, clashes and casualties are continuing in Egypt while the country moves towards choosing the country's new leader but will anyone be able to stabilize the country and put an end to the turmoil of the last 3 years is what remains to be seen.
