Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman condemns the killing of journalists working for a Lebanese news network by insurgents in Syria.
Marzieh Afkham said the incident has once again revealed the dangers posed by extremism. She urged the international community to join forces to stop extremism and terrorism. Three journalists from the Lebanese news channel al-Manar were shot and killed by militants in the Syrian town of Ma'lula. The shooting came after Syrian government forces retook several border towns in the Qalamun region bordering Lebanon. In recent months, the Lebanese Television channel has provided an extensive coverage of the fight in Qalamun.
