North Koreans pledge loyalty to Kim dynasty

STORY: North Korean state media on Sunday (April 13) released footage of soldiers and children pledging their loyalty to the Kim dynasty, ahead of the 102nd birth anniversary of founder Kim Il Sung.

Hundreds of North Korean soldiers were seen gathered for an massive outdoor rally, marching down the Kumsusan Place of the Sun, where the bodies of Kim Il Sung and the late leader Kim Jong Il lie in state.

The North's official news agency KCNA said soldiers paid "highest respects" to the founder, late leader Kim Jong Il and his youngest son and current leader, Kim Jong Un.

KRT also showed North Korean children having an outdoor rally at Changdok School ahead of April 15, Kim Il Sung's birth anniversary, which is also called the "Day of the Sun". Members of the Korean Children's Union (KCU) laid flowers before the statue of the founder.
