Russia says the U-S is not in a position to impose sanctions on the country over a probable oil-for-goods deal between Moscow and Tehran.
Russia's Finance Minister Anton Silu-anov says any agreement between Iran and Russia would follow the UN rules on sanction, not those of the United States. He said Russia acts on the basis of the decisions made by the U-N, and will operate within those decisions. Silu-anov’s remarks come a day after Washington announced that any such deal with Iran could be hit by U-S sanctions. The ties between Washington and Moscow soured after the incidents in Ukraine, especially following Crimea's integration into Russia.
