Reports out of Iraq say clashes have broken out between government forces and Al-Qaeda-linked militants in the Western province of Anbar.

The reports say government forces have already imposed a curfew on the city of Ramadi, and all communication networks are cut off. In the past several months, the Iraqi army has been fighting the militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in Anbar. The fresh clashes have sparked concerns that militants-- who have also been fighting in the city of Fallujah-- could be looking to open a new front against government forces.
