"Captain America: The Winter Soldier" conquered the North American box office in its debut weekend, becoming the top-earning movie so far this year, industry estimates showed on Sunday. Box office tracker Exhibitor Relations said the superhero saga from Disney's Marvel Studios, starring Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, pulled in a hefty $96.2 million. The 3-D, $170 million sequel to "Captain America: The First Avenger" outearned this year's previous box office winner "The Lego Movie," which in February grossed $69 million in its first weekend.

Country music's biggest stars spent their Sundays getting ready for the 49th Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan returned to the state as co-hosts for the event and looked like they were amped up on adrenaline before the cameras started rolling. The Voice coach shared a pic on Twitter of him with Bryan and wrote, "I think @LukeBryan and I are either ready or high…" The adorable snapshot shows the two jokesters showing off goofy faces for the camera as Shelton snapped the pic.
