Students in northern Nigeria are opting to stay at home after a series of attacks on schools.

Boko Haram fighters who reject western education are blamed for killing 700 people since the start the year.

Eighty-five schools have been indefinitely closed in Borno state.

The most recent school attack was in neighbouring Yobe state.
