Ukraine’s new Western-backed leaders have warned against the threats of a surging far-right group in the country.
Turchinov was addressing the lawmakers at the opening of a parliament session. The speech comes after scores of supports of the ultra-nationalist group, the Right Sector demonstrated outside parliament on Thursday night. They tried to storm the building in protest against the Interior Minister Arsen Avakov. The radical group blames Avakov for the killing of its leader Oleksandr Muzychko. These pictures show Right Sector supporters standing their ground outside parliament on Friday morning. Russia had previously warned of the rise of extremism in Ukraine amid the anti-government protests. s
