Visitors at the British capital zoo have been pleasantly surprised as three of the world's rarest tiger cubs ventured outside for the first time.
The cubs, will not be named until staff know whether they are male or female. The Sumatran tiger is classified as critically endangered on the list of threatened animals. Poaching, habitat loss and human-conflict have led to a significant decline in the population of the species. The Sumatran tigers, which are thought to be the rarests tigers in the world, are a welcome addition to the zoo after the death of its first Sumatran tiger cub in 17 years. There are estimated to be some 3-hundred of them in the wild.
