Turkey’s foreign minister says the posting on YouTube of a recording of top officials discussing possible military intervention in Syria is a declaration of war against Ankara.
Ahmet Davutoglu, who was one of the officials involved in the conversation, did not name the target of his accusation. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier described the recording as villainous. Ankara blocked YouTube after the alleged leaking of the video. Erdogan says he has been the target of a defamation campaign by Fethullah Gulen, a US-based cleric, who seeks to topple him. The cleric, however, has denied the accusation.
