Car hits biker: ex-Napster executive killed in bicycle accident

Former Napster executive Milton Everett Olin Jr., 65, was killed on Sunday afternoon (December 9) after being a struck by a sheriff's radio car while a deputy was out on patrol. According to CBS2 News in Los Angeles, Olin, of Woodland Hills, was riding in the bike lane in Calabasas, California when he was hit. Speed, alcohol and drugs were not considered factors in the accident.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Olin was in the 2200 block of Mulholland Highway at approximately 1:05 p.m. when the accident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy driving the vehicle sustained minor lacerations to his face from glass that broke during the impact of the collision.

The deputy, who officials have declined to name, was on a routine patrol and was not responding to an emergency at the time.

Olin was an Internet, intellectual property and entertainment law attorney, with his online profile stating that he was chief operating officer of the music file-sharing program Napster from 2000 to 2002.
