Norwegian ship continues search for possible plane debris in Indian Ocean

Owners of a Norwegian cargo ship which is looking for possible debris from the missing Malaysia jet in the South Indian Ocean say they have so far found nothing – but would continue the search throughout the night.
The car carrier Hoegh St. Petersburg was travelling from Madagascar to Melbourne when it was asked by Australian authorities to help in investigating.
Earlier on Thursday, Malaysian authorities confirmed that two objects had been sighted on Australian satellite images that could be related to the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.
“Every effort is being made to locate the objects seen in the satellite imagery. It must be stressed that these sightings, while credible, are still to be confirmed,” Malaysian MInister of Transport, Hishammuddin Hussein, said at a news conference.
The objects are located around 2,500 km south of Perth in the southern Indian Ocean.
The Australian Royal Navy has sent a warship to the area, after suspending air searches due to bad weather. The UK has also sent a ship, the HMS Echo.
